Money & resources
1. Cook meals to make money fast
Selling cooked meals is one of the best early income sources — far better than selling raw ingredients. Learn a few high-value recipes and cook in bulk.
2. Sell your surplus crops
Plant fast-growing, profitable crops, then sell the extras. Reinvest into bigger harvests to snowball your Star Coins.
3. Clear Night Thorns daily
Removing the purple Night Thorns drops resources and Dreamlight, and tidies up your valley. Clear them as you pass.
4. Don’t ignore Dreamlight
Dreamlight (the secondary currency) unlocks new biomes and realms. Complete the simple Dreamlight Duties tasks to earn it steadily.
Friendships
5. Level up friendships for perks
Hanging out with and gifting characters raises their friendship level, which unlocks helpful perks and story quests. Prioritize a few favorites early.
6. Give daily gifts
Each character has favored gifts that rotate daily (shown by a heart icon). Daily gifting is the fastest way to build friendships.
7. Assign a friend to help you
Bring a high-level companion along on a “role” (mining, gardening, fishing, digging) for bonus resources while you work.
Daily routine
8. Visit Scrooge’s store every day
Scrooge’s shop restocks daily with furniture and items — check it for things you can’t get elsewhere.
9. Fish the glowing ripples
Circles of bubbles in the water yield rarer fish worth more coins. Always prioritize them.
10. Plan around energy and time
There’s no harsh fail state, but a tidy daily loop — water crops, clear thorns, gift friends, cook — keeps progress steady.
Unlocking the valley
11. Save Dreamlight for biomes you need
Some unlocks gate important resources and characters. Spend Dreamlight on the areas that move your current quests forward.
12. Follow the quests
The character and Dreamlight quests are your roadmap. When in doubt, open your quest log and chase the next objective.
