Stardew Valley: How to Get Ancient Fruit (Best Money Crop)

Ask any veteran what the best long-term money crop in Stardew Valley is, and most will say the same thing: Ancient Fruit. Here’s how to get it and turn it into a gold-printing machine.

Why Ancient Fruit is so good

• It regrows every 7 days after the first harvest, so you plant once and harvest all season.
• It grows in spring, summer, and fall (and year-round in the greenhouse or on Ginger Island).
• Turned into wine in kegs, it sells for a fortune — especially with the Artisan profession.

Plant it in your greenhouse and you’ve got passive income forever.

How to get your first Ancient Seed

The tricky part is getting started. Here are the main ways:

1. Find an Ancient Seed artifact, then donate it to the museum — Gunther rewards you with a packet of Ancient Seeds you can plant.
   • Artifacts drop from artifact spots (the wiggly worm patches), digging/tilling, fishing treasure chests, and monster drops in the mines.
2. Seed Maker loop: once you have even one Ancient Fruit, put it in a Seed Maker to get more Ancient Seeds (sometimes several). This is how you scale from one plant to a whole greenhouse.
3. The Traveling Cart occasionally sells Ancient Seeds or Ancient Fruit (pricey, but a shortcut).

The money loop

1. Plant your first Ancient Seeds (greenhouse is ideal).
2. Harvest Ancient Fruit, then run some through a Seed Maker to multiply your seeds.
3. Fill the greenhouse with Ancient Fruit; it regrows every 7 days.
4. Put the fruit into kegs to make Ancient Fruit wine — the real money. With the Artisan profession (Farming level 10), it sells for even more.

Do this and you’ll have a reliable five-figure income every week.
